Johnny Andrews says: the banana cake was delicious and I think I learned about music today
Adam Sutherland says: There’s a room mic in the toilet stall. Cool.
So it’s about 10:40pm on day 2. I’m supposed to be recording but the showcases are going a bit late. Looks like we’ll be up until 3am or so. That’s rock n roll for ya. I guess for today’s blog I’ll just give you a play by play as we record our van125 song. I’ll start when we get into the studio.
11:41pm
Finally in studio! My boys were here a bit ahead of time doing some more preproduction and basically just making my life a hell of a lot easier. LETS HEAR IT FOR THE BOOOOYS!
1:06am
Drums are done. Sandwiches are beautiful. Coffee is needed. Mike’s nose is bleeding.
1:26am
Uhhhh Mike Edel is blowing my mind on bass. Thanks dude.
3:30am
Guitars and spontaneous Counting Crows jam. YEEEEEEEAAAAH…
5:15am
I’m on my fifth wind recording vocals. Apparently I should always sing at this hour…too bad I have to be at breakfast at 8 and class at 9. My apologies ahead of time to the faculty for not only falling asleep in class, but for going over time. My predictions were true of this recording session being absolutely killer.
5:45am
Oh…it’s starting to get light out there. This has gone incredibly well.
8:50am
I’m in the dining hall eating breakfast and thinking of how awesome last night was. It hasn’t sunk in that I’m running on 90 minutes of sleep. TIME FOR SCHOOOOOOOOL!
