102.7 THE PEAK AND MUSIC BC ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS OF THE FINAL BC PEAK PERFORMANCE PROJECT
Last night, 102.7 The PEAK and the Music BC Industry Association announced the winners of the 2015 BC PEAK Performance Project live at the historical Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. This marks the final year of the 7 year program that has invested over $5 million into the British Columbia music community.
This year’s winner and prizing are as follows:
The PEAK Performance Project was the brainchild of Music BC Executive Director Bob D’Eith, and funded by a generous Canadian Content Development commitment from the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group. Launched in 2009, the project has assisted in the development of over 120 BC artists with education, marketing, and of course, funding. The top 3 artists from every year have collectively taken home over 1.6 million dollars to spend on their development, with millions more being spent within the BC music industry.
The PEAK Performance Project will continue in Alberta thanks to 95.3 The PEAK in Calgary. The Alberta project will be announcing the winner at it’s finale this Saturday, November 21st at Flames Central, with performances by the top 3 artists Leeroy Stagger, The Royal Foundry, and Transit.
Also, now available for FREE download are the 12 songs from the Top 12 Alberta and BC artists. They were teamed up with the challenge of writing a song to record at boot camp using the theme “Hello, Goodbye”. All 12 songs were recorded in 5 pop-up studios built in a day at the RockRidge Canyon Bootcamp by the Nimbus School of Recording and Media and their amazing crew.
