Barney Bentall

Barney Bentall is a Canadian singer-songwriter well-known for his  band, Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts. The band landed a recording contract with Epic/CBS Records, (later Sony Music), after releasing an independent music video for “Something to Live For” on Much Music in 1987.

After ten years of recording and touring with the Legendary Hearts, Bentall started a cattle ranch in 1997 in British Columbia. Almost a decade later, he released his first solo album titled Gift Horse on True North Records in 2006. His second solo album , Inside Passage will be released in September 2009.

Since 2007, Barney Bentall hosts The Grand Cariboo Opry in which two generations of some of Canada’s finest roots and country musicians join him to put on a one of a kind event that harkens back to a simpler time.
