Kevin “Chief” Zaruk has 15 years experience in the music industry. During his early days at a Vancouver music studio, Chief began working with members of now world-renowned Nickelback, who were just getting themselves started.
After forming a connection and mixing sound for the band, Chief became a mainstay in the partnership as Nickelback’s audio engineer, and toured the world as their sound tour manager for 11 years.
In 2006 Chief founded his own management company and began to manage Hinder, who are signed to universal records and famous for the hit single, “Lips of an Angel”. Their CD sold 3 million copies, while their new CD, “Take it to the Limit” was release November 4th, and certified Gold, with their hit singles “Use Me and “Without You.” Hinder will be going on tour all summer in support of Nickelback. Chief’s management company has signed several other artists including Vancouver’s own Faber Drive, who are signed to 604 Records (co-owned by Chad Kroeger). Thanks to intensive work with Chief, Faber Drive rose to #1 on Much Music and Musique Plus. Faber Drive is currently in studio working on their sophomore album. Their new single “G-Get Up and Dance” will be released this Summer. Rockers Jet Black Stare were next to join with Chief and were fortunate to sign with Island Records. Jet Black Stare was added to many successful tours with likes of, Stained, Hinder and Three Doors Down helping to promote their album, “In this Life.” The guys are back in the studio and will be working on a follow up CD.
Jessie James, Mercury Records artist is soon to release her first debut pop Album. Jessie is Co-Managed with Johnny Wright from WEG Music (who works with Justin Timberlake, Jonas Brothers, Janet Jackson, Ciara and more). Her single “Wanted” has more then 70 radio stations on board and will be touring with The Jonas Brothers this summer, along with several radio festivals.
The Veer Union with Universal Motown, released their Album Against The Grain April 21st. Their single “Seasons” has already charted #14 at Rock Radio. They are currently touring across the US with the You Can Be Anything Foundation which helps promote and support high school music programs. The Veer Union have recently been on tour with Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and currently performing with Hailstorm.
Chief has recently joined forces with Union Entertainment Group, where he will remain in the Nickelback family, as well as starting new and exciting joint ventures.
CMM partnered with Maloof Music Entertainment Group; a very well connected company who owns Palms hotel and Casino, the Sacramento Kings, and Carls Jr. Working with them will help to target a new market though movies, TV video games and sports and reach to a larger audience.
